Saturday I did a 5-6 mile walk with the outdoors group. We were mostly in woods and/or by a lake, but there were some stints out in the sun. Although we started early, it was plenty hot!
Yes, this is the group that kayaks. The organization is huge though, so not everyone does everything. You meet new people every time you join an activity, although over time you tend to see some of the same people because they are at the same "level" as you---would sign up for the same sorts of hikes and so forth.
Don't think I didn't consider a dip myself!
