Reedy Creek Park Hike

Way out in the woods, there's the stone ruins of a house built in the 1700's. It is pretty, with weeds growing between the stones and gorgeous trees all around.

I'm moving....

This is my new back patio...

Different

I'm a little shy....

... but I don't know the meaning of the word!!

Past their prime, but they've still got it!

Forgotten, but not gone

On the way to the park...

I had to stop and take a picture. I don't think the photo really shows the vibrancy of this house!

(Warning....LOTS of park photos to follow!!)

Reflections--yes, again!

I just can't seem to help it. The reflections are so wonderful!!

Park Sights

Waiting for the season....Tennis in full swing...I took this through the green screen, having no idea how it would turn out.
A little friend come to visit (one of many, unfortunately!).

I thought these were fascinating!

Flowers in the Park

Is this bridal wreath? We used to pick it with azaleas and dogwood for Easter. The first iris I've seen this year--in the neighborhood adjacent to the park.

Trees in Freedom Park

Pink Snow

Freedom Park

I found a park! It has much the same feel as my old haunt in Atlanta. There are people walking, jogging, biking, skating, and fishing. Lots of dogs on leashes. Kids playing. And the surrounding neighborhood is an old established one. I walked all over the park, and through part of the neighborhood.

Cycle of Beauty

From the first hint of color......to the glory of full bloom....
...to the shedding of petals....the cycle of beauty is all around me at this time of year!

Davidson College

Davidson College is a small campus a few miles up the road. Since my public radio station broadcasts from there, I paid more attention when their basketball team made it pretty far in the finals. Big excitement around here. I finally made time to walk around the campus, and found it lovely. How I would like to be back in school!

This year's first dogwood

They're still a tad green, but I was happy to see them. I think there are less in this part of the country, and I will miss them!
